History of the Springfield M1a Rifle

October 9th, 2011 Comments off

The year 1974 marked the exceptional birth of the Springfield M1A rifle. Principally, the M1A is a high-quality reincarnation of the U.S. M14 rifle that saw the U.S halfway through the early years of the Vietnam War. The M1A however is civilian friendly and capitalizes on the popularity of the M14 type by using GI parts and specs. If you aspire to be the proud owner of a fully-automatic or selective fire riffle ,than perhaps  this is not the riffle for you. The M1A

If you go to TN for Knob Creek, you will be sorely disappointed. It is in Kentucky.

Also, your best chance for finding one will probably be at Knob Creek.

Have fun filling out paperwork for each individual shot. 20mm is a real pain.

in USA is possible to buy the assault rifle “Beretta AR70/90″?? If yes, how much $$?

October 5th, 2011 2 comments

Question by last choice: in USA is possible to buy the assault rifle “Beretta AR70/90″?? If yes, how much $ $ ?
It’s possible to install scope?? If yes, how much for a scope??

then

lot of people told me that is better than assault rifle Colt M16 (same 5,56 mm × 45 NATO rounds), it’s true??

Eric:

I’ve used lot of times a real AR70/90, during compulsive 1 year in army… and is full automatic, like this video show:

It have 3 purpose, like an M16: 1 shot, 3 shot, continuos fire

Best answer:

Answer by Robert H
Yes, If they were manufactured prior to 1986 and are “Transferable”. Cost would be high however somewhere in the $ 10,000 – $ 15,000 range.

Comparing the Beretta to an M16 series weapon is like comparing Apples to Oranges. Both are good high quality weapons. Both are very expensive to legally own.

Beretta AR70 Sport models – those that are semi automatic only cost considerable less than their FA counterparts – about $ 1500 – $ 2500. No special license or tax stamp is needed for these rifles in most of the US. Some states do restrict ownership of them however. Check your states laws to find out what their rules are.

To my Canadian brother. Our US Constitution guarantee’s the freedom to own guns (2nd Amendment). While that freedom has been impinged upon we are still allowed full automatic (FA) weapons under Federal law with some exceptions. Some states have banned the ownership of FA totally. There is a $ 200 Tax stamp (fee/license) to own FA firearms in addition to the cost of the gun itself. We have lots of “gun control” laws. None of which have ever stopped a criminal from acquiring or using a firearm.

To answer your comment about why would you need one………….its not about needs……….its about rights.

what is the best “sniper rifle”, scope, and bullets a civilian can buy? w?

September 21st, 2011 4 comments

Question by d.: what is the best “sniper rifle”, scope, and bullets a civilian can buy? w?
i know hunting rifles are the more correct term in which iam asking but, i was wondering if the Model 700™ Tactical Target Rifle or Remmington700 were decent. i wanted a SVD but that ant happening.

all my uncles hunt and i wanna impress them with not only my supe duper amazing skills but also that i can a decent gun cuz they give me a hard time for my winchester.

also i wanna know what scope and ammo go like salt n pepper to my choice rifle.

any ideas?

Best answer:

Answer by METROPOLIS1
Nightforce optics…… You said best – right?

http://www.nightforceoptics.com/

The Remington 700 rifles are very decent — Avoid any Remington model with tactical on it — Although they are nice they are expensive and for the common user I dont see a real advantage….

Consider one of these……

http://www.snipercentral.com/remspsv.htm

I have one of these and its been a pleasure to use….

http://www.snipercentral.com/vtr.htm

I would like to point something out —Amazing skills come from you – Not the rifle — I have taken very average to crappy rifles and regularly outshoot people with firearms costing thousands of dollars more than what I had…… Case in Point — I was shooting a Hi-Point 9MM carbine at a 10 inch steel plate to 100 yards – They guy next to me was trying to get his scope sighted in at 100 yards with a Thompson TC rifle and some $ 500 Leupold scope — I kept hitting the metal Plink, plink plink and he couldnt even get it on the target — He swore at me and asked how I was able to do that – like I had some magical skills… He got annoyed and left…I like showing off my skills with junk just to prove a point…..

Its the man – Not the rifle!…..

Bullets? — I use off the shelf bulk ammo and get plenty of decent results….

Is a high powered “Air Rifle” good for hunting animals ?

September 21st, 2011 5 comments

Question by Zodiac Man “The Great”: Is a high powered “Air Rifle” good for hunting animals ?
I love my 12 guage shotgun. But I do not want to use it for hunting.
I need something that is quiet, and can be used for big game hunting.
And the animals I want to hunt are deer, squirrel, birds, and rabbits.
I heard that air guns are very powerful. Some of them can go up to
1500 fps, with 30grs. Many of them are .22 or .177 calibers. Some
of them are made up to .50 calibers. And that is nothing to sneeze
at, if you are talking about trying to hunt an animal. So far, I keep
hearing about Beemans, and Quackenbushes. What do you think
would be the right air rifle for me ? I live in the Carolinas by the way
here in the states…………….
Glen Beck. Thank you very much. I think
your show is much better now since you
have been on Fox News, by the way.

I used to use my granddads air rifles to kill rabbits with, I don’t remember the make as it was about 30 years ago, I was a .22, and very accurate, but it would kill a rabbit easily.

Achieving Accuracy with an Air Rifle

Shooting a magnum spring powered air rifle is much different than shooting a .22 rim-fire or .308 center-fire rifle. It takes practice and patience to master shooting a spring piston rifle. Some have said that a better marksman will result when a person begins in the shooting sports with a spring powered air rifle and then moves to a firearm, as opposed to starting first with a rim- or center-fire. This is due to the fact that unlike a firearm, an air rifle has two

‘Out of Style Firearms’ Introduces Web Source for Surplus-Style Rifles and More

Saint Augustine, FL (Vocus) July 8, 2010

Web entrepreneur Steven Collis is pleased to announce the launch of his brand-new website, http://www.OutOfStyleFirearms.com. Published in April 2010, the web store was developed to distribute an assortment of surplus-style firearms to a nationwide market.

“I’ve been a gun collector for years,” Collis said. “My fascination for firearms is what led me to develop my website; I hope to be able to connect with other collectors and provide them with new pieces or inspire other enthusiasts to start a collection.”

Among his personal firearms collection, Collis possesses several, cherished World-War-II-era rifles. Naturally, he incorporated these out-of-style firearms (not his own) into his web store’s inventory. Additionally, shoppers may choose from a wide selection of rifles such as the M1 Garand, Mauser, Enfield, Mosin Nagant, Anschutz, BRNO, AK47, ARs and many more.

At OutOfStyleFirearms.com shoppers may also choose from a selection of handguns such as the Makarov, Colt, Walther, German Luger, Nagant Revolver, Sig, Ruger, Taurus, and H&K. Spare parts, such as stocks and rifle magazines, may also be purchased.

“I enjoy broadening my knowledge of various types of firearms and want to connect with the public to share my findings. I’m also available to work one-on-one with a customer to help them track down a specific item or a rare piece,” Collis said.

On average, the website’s collection includes firearms that date from the ‘30s to modern day. All of the guns are fully functional and can be used for decoration; however, most buyers have had the intent to use them in hunting or home protection.

“We ensure the utmost safety in the distribution of our products. All orders must be shipped to an FFL holder, something that must be arranged before we process the transaction,” he said.

To learn more about the specific products available at OutOfStyleFirearms.com, shoppers are encouraged to visit the website’s newly formulated blog, http://www.FirearmReview.net. This interactive tool will also be used to provide tips for firearm field stripping as well as historical tidbits about World War II.
