Affinity Doors Partners with Ducks Unlimited to Provide Custom Doors for Its Members

Richmond, VA (PRWEB) May 26, 2010

Affinity Doors, the leading provider of one-of-a-kind custom doors and entranceways announces its partnership with Ducks Unlimited to provide its members with hand-crafted wooden doors.

“Because we care for the environment and see the value in hand-craftsmanship, partnering with Ducks Unlimited is a natural fit,” said Ed Duddy, president of Affinity Doors. “Our philosophy has always been to have the highest standards in producing doors of unparalleled quality. Because we can create virtually any design, we are able to produce entranceways that are only limited by one’s imagination.”

Affinity Doors will be showcasing several doors designed specifically with the waterfowl and hunting enthusiast in mind at the 73rd Annual Ducks Unlimited Conference in Grapevine, Texas outside of Dallas. The doors include various waterfowl and game scenes that will be for viewing at the conference.

“While we have created doors representing wildlife in the past,” said Duddy, “working with Ducks Unlimited members has given us the opportunity to create doors that reflect the specific nuances of particular waterfowl seen in nature. That attention to detail is what makes our job so fulfilling.”

About Affinity Doors

Located in Richmond, Virginia, Affinity Doors designs, creates, and manufactures custom exterior and interior wood doorways, wine cellar doors, wrought iron doors, and specialty glass doors. Doors can either be designed by a designer, customer, or can be selected from one of our thousands of door designs. Affinity Doors has created doors for PGA West, First Presbyterian Church, Springfield (Lincoln Family church), historic buildings, and residential homes across North America. BirdShield? from Martinson-Nicholls Repels Geese, Ducks, Seagulls and Birds Without Harming Wildlife or the Environment

June 11th, 2011 Comments off

BirdShield™ from Martinson-Nicholls Repels Geese, Ducks, Seagulls and Birds Without Harming Wildlife or the Environment

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) May 31, 2007

New liquid BirdShield™ (http://www.floormat.com/birdshield.html) repels birds from any virtually any structure without harming them or using toxic chemicals or electricity. The food-grade, biodegradable bird repellent repels birds from nesting, loafing and roosting in and upon structures, roofs, interior or exterior walls, siding, statues, bridges, driveways and parking lots. It also deters water birds from boat docks and marina areas.

Liquid BirdShield dries, leaving a residue with a grape-like odor. Birds’ trigeminal system, similar to our sense of smell, is irritated by BirdShield’s smell. It’s environmentally friendly and harmless to birds. Developed with assistance from a major university, BirdShield’s active ingredient is Methyl Anthranilate (MA), a constitute of Concord grapes. MA Has been used by the food and drug industry for over 40 years to flavor candy, sodas, gums and drugs; it is listed by the US FDA as “Generally Recognized as Safe” (GRAS) and is classified by the EPA as “reduced risk.”

The invisible solution cannot be seen or heard by neighbors, customers or employees. Typically, birds will not return after just a few treatments-they leave for the long-term as they cannot habituate.

“The first day I sprayed Birdshield I could see the birds visiting the attic, and congregating in the nearest maple tree. I sprayed Birdshield a second time. I have not seen a Starling on my property since! They fly right by! Every year I stubbornly spent more time and money on products that did not work. Never again will birds roost in my house. Thank You from the converted fans of Birdshield!” — Chris & Diane S.

When used with RejeX-it Bird Aversion Agents (http://www.floormat.com/rejexit.html), BirdShield provides a complete solution for repelling birds from populated areas. RejeX-it works on grass and foliage while BirdShield treats man-made structures and surfaces.

Martinson-Nicholls (http://www.floormat.com) is committed to the conservation of the environment by providing alternative, non-toxic methods for the control of damage caused by nuisance wildlife. By making properties unpalatable to geese and other birds, BirdShield and RejeX-it solve the territorial conflict between birds and humans without harming either.

About Martinson-Nicholls

Martinson-Nicholls, over the last 25 years, has concentrated on pest repellents, floor safety, anti-fatigue and indoor and outdoor heated floor mat applications. It has established itself as a leader in safety solutions and custom floor matting for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Martinson-Nicholls provides the customer with the type and size needed — small, large, standard, nonstandard, special shapes and logos. Custom installations are also a specialty of the company.

Anti-slip safety tapes and treads are available in various sizes and textures from hand-cut or die-cut pieces to full rolls and special shapes.

What Do Ducks Eat?

May 31st, 2011 Comments off

So, what do ducks eat? If you are to care for ducks as pets, you should know what you should and should not feed them. If you place them in a healthy version of their natural habitat, they will most likely have a steady supply of their staple foods. If this is the case, you do not even need to keep on actively feeding them. The pond can feed your pet ducks. However, in cases when there is a shortage or if you are keeping your ducks in a backyard coop, you should be able to

Long Island Ducks Fans Can Win $10,000 with Just a Few Perfect Pitches

Long Island Ducks Fans Can Win $ 10,000 with Just a Few Perfect Pitches

Central Islip, NY (PRWEB) June 4, 2006

“Only on Long Island” might best describe a promotion that this summer could have a fan leaving a Long Island Ducks game with an extra $ 10,000 – just for throwing a few strikes.

The Long Island Ducks and Mercury Insurance have partnered to create the Mercury Insurance Perfect Pitch Skill Challenge, a new game within 15 selected Ducks home games this season. The contest, which will give one lucky participant the chance to throw with the pros and win $ 10,000 throughout the season, will occur between the top and bottom of the sixth inning. To win the grand prize, each aspiring pitcher will need to throw three strikes through a 9” target from a distance of 60’ 6” – and do so before throwing four balls.

To be eligible, Ducks fans must visit the Mercury booth located on the main concourse inside the stadium and complete a registration form before the start of the fourth inning. Participants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. The Ducks will draw one name at each game and the winner will be invited onto the field to pitch.

“Mercury Insurance is committed to serving New York, and we are honored to be part of the state’s rich baseball history,” said Mercury Advertising Director, Erik Thompson.

No contestant will go away empty handed; each participant in the Mercury Insurance Perfect Pitch Skill Challenge will win a suite for an upcoming game for throwing two strikes; an autographed bat for throwing one strike; and four tickets to a future Ducks game just for competing. Also, a Ducks sweatshirt will be given out at 36 regular season games to the holder of the Duck Call program with a Mercury Insurance ad signed by a Ducks star.

“Mercury Insurance is a dynamic, growing company that shares the Ducks commitment to providing top-quality products at a great price, and we are proud to be partnering with them throughout the entire season,” says Ducks General Manager Michael Hirsch.

The contest will occur at the following Long Island Ducks home games:

Saturday 17-Jun

Friday 23-Jun

Saturday 8-Jul

Friday 14-Jul

Wednesday 19-Jul

Friday 28-Jul

Wednesday 2-Aug

Thursday 17-Aug

Saturday 19-Aug

Wednesday 30-Aug

Saturday 23-Sep

Mercury Insurance is among America’s fastest growing insurance companies. Mercury provides a variety of insurance products and services, including auto, home and personal liability insurance. With more than $ 4 billion dollars in assets, Mercury is committed to providing policyholders with the best service at the lowest rate possible. Why doesn’t Nike commercially sell Oregon Ducks “Combat Collection” gear?

May 17th, 2011 2 comments

Question by dfswinger15: Why doesn’t Nike commercially sell Oregon Ducks “Combat Collection” gear?
For example, I’ve looked everywhere for the volt socks, receiver’s gloves, bands, etc. Do they sell more locally, or what’s the deal? I can’t find anything online, except eBay on occasion and the prices are ridiculous. The Duck uniforms/gear gets the company huge national exposure, but they hardly commercially sell any of it! This fall on Nike’s website there was a combat collection that featured roughly ten teams and promoted (and sold to an extent) the uniform upgrades (TCU, Boise St, and more) but not the Ducks, which is the most popular. I’m just confused.

probably has something to do with copyright rights and the fact they change their uniforms for every game. have you tried nextag or shopzilla or other shopping bot

Twenty-Three Texas Ducks Unlimited Chapters Grab National Recognition

DU Logo long

Memphis, Tenn. (Vocus/PRWEB) March 31, 2011

Texas Ducks Unlimited volunteers are known for leading the charge for wetlands conservation, and this year 23 DU chapters in Texas rank among the most successful chapters in the nation.

Six Texas chapters achieved President’s Elite status, a designation reserved for chapters that raise $ 100,000 or more annually for DU’s habitat conservation work. Seventeen Texas chapters made DU’s Top 100 list, which is reserved for the Top 100 chapters that raise up to $ 100,000 in grassroots income for DU’s conservation mission.

“Our Texas volunteers continue to step up to the plate and deliver in a big way to help preserve our hunting heritage,” said DU National Director of Grassroots Fundraising David Schuessler. “To land 23 of the top spots in the nation is a feat that should make Texans extremely proud.”

The 23 Texas chapters earned a spot on these lists out of more than 2,700 DU chapters nationwide. DU’s grassroots system has become a model for other conservation organizations worldwide and has helped conserve more than 12 million acres of waterfowl habitat since 1937.

“These volunteers truly understand the issues waterfowl populations are facing today and the importance of raising funds for DU’s conservation work across North America, including Texas and the breeding grounds that impact the state’s annual migration,” Schuessler said. “Congratulations to these chapters and the men and women who work hard to organize these events.”

April 29th, 2011 Comments off

The main reason why people rear ducks is for profit. Rearing of ducks is inexpensive because they have been found to adapt well to different climatic conditions. They are also not very picky when it comes to food so there is no need to buy special feeds for them. However, while young they may need to be fed with food rich in protein to help strengthen their bodies. The eggs ducks produce are larger compared to that of a chicken’s and have higher nutritional value making it a
