‘Out of Style Firearms’ Introduces Web Source for Surplus-Style Rifles and More

Saint Augustine, FL (Vocus) July 8, 2010

Web entrepreneur Steven Collis is pleased to announce the launch of his brand-new website, http://www.OutOfStyleFirearms.com. Published in April 2010, the web store was developed to distribute an assortment of surplus-style firearms to a nationwide market.

“I’ve been a gun collector for years,” Collis said. “My fascination for firearms is what led me to develop my website; I hope to be able to connect with other collectors and provide them with new pieces or inspire other enthusiasts to start a collection.”

Among his personal firearms collection, Collis possesses several, cherished World-War-II-era rifles. Naturally, he incorporated these out-of-style firearms (not his own) into his web store’s inventory. Additionally, shoppers may choose from a wide selection of rifles such as the M1 Garand, Mauser, Enfield, Mosin Nagant, Anschutz, BRNO, AK47, ARs and many more.

At OutOfStyleFirearms.com shoppers may also choose from a selection of handguns such as the Makarov, Colt, Walther, German Luger, Nagant Revolver, Sig, Ruger, Taurus, and H&K. Spare parts, such as stocks and rifle magazines, may also be purchased.

“I enjoy broadening my knowledge of various types of firearms and want to connect with the public to share my findings. I’m also available to work one-on-one with a customer to help them track down a specific item or a rare piece,” Collis said.

On average, the website’s collection includes firearms that date from the ‘30s to modern day. All of the guns are fully functional and can be used for decoration; however, most buyers have had the intent to use them in hunting or home protection.

“We ensure the utmost safety in the distribution of our products. All orders must be shipped to an FFL holder, something that must be arranged before we process the transaction,” he said.

To learn more about the specific products available at OutOfStyleFirearms.com, shoppers are encouraged to visit the website’s newly formulated blog, http://www.FirearmReview.net. This interactive tool will also be used to provide tips for firearm field stripping as well as historical tidbits about World War II.

Toykin.com Announces the Opening of its New Line of Electric Airsoft Rifles Just in Time for Summer Break. Quality Airsoft Guns – Choosing Wisely for Victory on the Field

airsoft machine gun

(PRWEB) June 15, 2011

Toykin.com, California based online retail shop is proud to announce the availability of high end quality electric airsoft guns.

Airsoft guns can be found everywhere, from a local mega toy store to the flea market. The prices for those guns range considerably depending on where to buy them. Saving money and finding the most affordable solution for shooting needs is important. However, shopping for cheap airsoft guns might not be the best way to go about finding the quality guns needed for accuracy, durability and enjoyment.

It’s really best to shop for quality airsoft guns first, and then focus on price after finding a reliable supplier. In this, online suppliers have a distinct edge over real-world stores. For instance, Toykin.com provides the lowest prices possible on the top-quality airsoft guns on the market. The company is able to do this because they lack the same overhead as a traditional retail store, ensuring that they can offer their customers cheap airsoft guns without sacrificing quality or performance.

Available Styles

Most airsoft guns are modeled after real guns – sniper rifles, pistols and machine guns like the AK-47, the M16 and other popular models. Many high end quality airsoft rifles come with included scopes for better accuracy, while airsoft pistols offer immense portability and ease of use.

Electric Airsoft Guns vs. Spring Airsoft Guns

After choosing a retailer, one will need to determine the type of airsoft guns he needs. There are two primary propulsion types on the market – electric airsoft guns and spring airsoft guns. Each differs from the other significantly. In order to make the right purchase, one will need to know a bit more about both options.

Affordable Spring Airsoft Guns: Spring airsoft guns are the oldest style on the market, but also have the least amount of maintenance required. These guns are reliable, sturdy and immensely durable. Once the clip or chamber is filled with airsoft pellets, a shooter simply needs to cock the gun and fire. A spring in the firing chamber is compressed and then released when the trigger is pulled. The releasing spring propels the pellet down the barrel and out of the gun. However, most spring-powered guns are limited to firing 1 pellet at a time.

Electric Airsoft Guns: Electric airsoft guns differ significantly from their spring-powered brethren. These rely on a high-torque electric motor for their firing action. As such, they can offer rapid-fire performance, which can be highly desirable depending on style of play or type of shooting practice. Cheap electric airsoft guns from Toykin.com provide plenty of power and performance, as well as the ability to take on any foe that you might face on the field of battle. An AEG can usually fire up to 1,000 BBs per minute, with some capable of reaching velocities of 500 feet per second. However, they are somewhat higher in maintenance than spring-powered guns simply because they require batteries in order to operate.

To find out more about electric airsoft rifles, spring airsoft rifles and pistols, visit the company at http://www.Toykin.com.

About Toykin.com.com: Toykin.com.com is on of the largest online retail shops in the US. The company focuses on providing the best quality airsoft rifles for the cheapest price in the market, ensuring that everyone can find airsoft guns for his need at affordable prices. Toykin.com offers same day order processing for all orders that arrive prior to 2 PM PST, which ensures that customers can get their airsoft guns in the shortest time possible. Toykin.com also offers 1,000 free BBs on every purchase over $ 50 and a free airsoft pistol on every purchase over $ 75.

New Indestructible GunCruzer Gun Case Protects Rifles From Elements Inside and Out

(PRWEB) February 26, 2008

The new armored Pelican gun case by GunCruzer assures safe passage for rifles even under extreme conditions including intense heat or cold, penetrating humidity, excessive turbulence, and rust.

The watertight GunCruzer gun case, made specifically for Remington 700 Series scoped rifles, is perfect for sportsmen hunting for a case as tough as the back country. This indestructible carrying case always comes home in one piece – no handles torn off or latches bashed or feet mangled. When the hunter is ready for action, so is his firearm.

GunCruzer was conceived as another rough and tumble product by CaseCruzer. This exceptional Pelican case is a hard nut to crack. But its interior is a soft, sturdy nest: The custom closed cell Polyethylene foam padding and convoluted foam egg-crate lid guarantee a snug fit for all Remington 700 S rifles. A bumpy country road will do no harm. Neither will a careless baggage handler at the airport or bus depot.

The wheeled GunCruzer is 38.12 inches long, 17.81-inches wide and 6.12-inches high. With fold-down handles it can easily squeeze into a tightly packed camper or pick-up. And it is guaranteed to survive any kind of nasty a tough terrain can deliver. If it doesn’t, CaseCruzer will replace it –- for life.

GunCruzer can swim, too. The gun case is watertight and buoyant up to 137 lbs., which makes it the ideal carrying case for river, lake or marshland areas. Extreme heat or cold won’t hurt it. Rain, sleet or snow are no threat. And saltwater conditions? No contest.

Matt Starr, vice president of the Rifle Sportsmen’s Club in Colorado, said transporting firearms can create problems. For example, outdoorsmen regularly travel from distant places by air and land to hunt in his area. Often, before they go into the field, they visit his club to adjust shooting scopes that have been knocked off-kilter en route.

“The first thing is the air travel. You never know what might have happened to the guns in transit. And then there is the long drive; perhaps two or three hours to the hunting site. There’s a lot of opportunity for things to happen along the way. Proper care and cleaning of the rifle is one thing. But I believe protecting the zero-setting of the firearm scope is the number one concern,” he said.

Yet cleaning a gun well before storing it is essential. Starr once lived in the humid state of Florida. While cleaning his gun, he inadvertently left a fingerprint on the barrel. “A week later I could see a rust outline around my fingerprint. I could wipe it away, but I’ve seen fingerprints pit the metal of a gun. You need to be responsible for a nice firearm. Fortunately, Colorado is not nearly as laborious as other climates.”

Storage in a dust-proof GunCruzer means a Remington 700 Series scoped rifle will resist rust and function properly – assuming maintenance and service are on schedule –- when a sportsman pulls it out for the next hunting season. And it includes standard and reliable Pelican case features, such as automatic purge valve with Gore-Tex® membrane and easy-to-open double-throw latches. GunCruzer. It’s built to survive.

For more information on GunCruzer’s new Pelican gun case and how to protect rifles when traveling, visit http://www.casesbypelican.com; call 800-440-9925 in the U.S. or 909-613-1547 internationally; fax 909-613-1979; or write to CaseCruzer at 4665 State Street, Montclair, CA 91763.

What are some good rifles for a “SHTF” situation?

July 3rd, 2011 8 comments

Question by CarJack: What are some good rifles for a “SHTF” situation?
I’ve got an Auto Ordinace Thompson 1927A1 which is bad as fuck, but 45 ACP isn’t exactly a “tactical rifle” round, and it seems to jam up a little too often for my liking.
Now I don’t really care for any of the Russian shit and AR15′s just look cheap to me. So anyone got any suggestions on an Hi-Cap, accurate, and reliable semi-automatic rifle?

Deadline Looms for Silent Auction of Matching Handcrafted Rifles to Benefit ACGG Education Foundation – Bidding Closes Dec. 1

Casper, WY (PRWEB) October 17, 2009

The American Custom Gunmakers Guild’s mission is “Promoting the artistry of fine custom firearms,” and there’s no better example of that artistry than a pair of Model 700 Short Action Rifles being auctioned off Dec. 1 to benefit ACGG’s Education Foundation.

The pair of rifles (.222 cal. and .257 cal. respectively) are consecutively serial-numbered G6531421 and G6531422. The actions were donated by Larry Potterfield, founder and CEO of MidwayUSA. Donors of various components include Fred DePoy of Douglas Barrels; Fred Wenig of Wenig Custom Gunstocks; and Leupold, “America’s optics authority,” with photography donated by Tom Alexander. Time building the rifles was donated by John Maxson and engraving by Brian Powley. Veteran stockmaker John Maxson, President of the Education Foundation, explained the inspiration for the rifles this way:

“Bruce Farman and I were talking at Reno in January of 2008 about ideas for raising money for the scholarship fund of the Education Foundation,” Maxson said.

That’s when Maxson eyed a pair of Remington Actions.

He turned to Farman, the foundation’s treasurer, and said, “How about if we build a pair of rifles for the scholarship fund all out of donated components, and do them up in a modest hunting motif in a couple of classic calibers, and silent bid auction them with the money going to fund scholarships for gunmakers?”

The auction is open to anyone, age 21 or older, who meets the Federal requirements for purchasing a firearm. Bids must include:

A. Amount of Bid

B. Complete Name

C. Complete Address

D. Phone Number

E. Any bid received that states $ 1.00 more than the highest bid will not be accepted.

4. All bids will be sent to: ACGG Education Foundation, c/o Bruce Farman Treasurer, 2563 NE Wm E. Sutton Road, Bremerton, WA 98311.

Bids will be opened Dec. 15. If two or more bids are identical, the winning bid with the earliest postmark will be selected. The winner will be notified Dec. 15. If no contact can be made, the next highest bidder will be notified.

Deadline for bids is Dec. 1, 2009. Donations to the American Custom Gunmakers Guild Education Foundation are tax-deductible.

McMillan Group International Awarded Multiple Contracts for Tactical Rifles

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) December 7, 2009

McMillan Group International has been awarded a contract to deliver 115 TAC-50 rifles to the U.S. Department of the Army, TACOM (Rock Island Arsenal). McMillan was also awarded multiple international contracts to deliver TAC-50 rifles to the Canadian Army, the Republic of Georgia and a Paraguay Law Enforcement Agency. Paraguay also requested TAC-308 rifles as part of its contract.

According to Ryan McMillan, vice president of McMillan, “The TAC-50′s strength is a long-range anti-personnel firearm where precision accuracy and high power are required at extreme ranges, but the TAC-50 is also effective in the traditional role of anti-materiel firearm. The TAC-308 is designed for urban tactical scenarios where accuracy and reliability are critical.”

McMillan’s TAC-50 is the preferred issue 50 caliber for many government and law enforcement agencies, including international agencies, as a Long Range Sniper Rifle.

McMillan’s TAC-50 rifle is also credited with the longest confirmed successful engagement on record. A Canadian Army sniper executed a confirmed 2,430 meter (2,657 yards) shot in Afghanistan setting a world record for the longest successful tactical shot in combat.

The TAC-50 is based on the McMillan 50 caliber action—the same action that dominates 50 caliber benchrest competition. A premium match grade barrel, tuned trigger, hand bedded McMillan fiberglass stock and meticulous benchrest gunsmithing contribute to the extreme accuracy known for the TAC-50.

Despite its power, the TAC-50 is surprisingly easy to shoot owing to the proprietary design of the McMillan muzzle brake and geometry of the stock.

The McMillan TAC-308 is chambered in .308 Winchester with a heavy, match-grade barrel. The McMillan tactical rifle stock features a spacer system, flush mount swivel cups, and adjustable integral cheekpiece. The TAC-308 is produced in two variants. The TAC-308A includes an A3-5 stock with detachable box magazine and 20″ barrel with thread cap. The TAC-308B includes an A3-5 stock with detachable box magazine and 24″ barrel with thread cap.

About McMillan

McMillan Group International, located in Phoenix, Arizona, is the corporate parent for a family of firearms companies committed to excellence in the firearms industry. Companies include McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, a manufacturer of the McMillan tactical and hunting rifles; McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, a leading manufacturer of premium custom fiberglass stocks for hunting, competition, tactical and OEM markets; McMillan Machine Company (formerly “McBros”), a contract manufacturer of precision machined parts and McMillan Operator Development, an advanced tactical training school for military and law enforcement.

Small Game Hunting Weapons – Rifles

January 18th, 2011 Comments off

Small game hunting involves pursuing small animals like rabbits, squirrels, and ducks. Since these animals are small, high power weapons are not needed to hunt them. You are better off investing in a weapon that has greater accuracy to be able to target the small game better.

Also, the price of ammunition should be considered, too, since a hunter can take a great number shots in one day.

Under these conditions, a rim-fire rifle would be perfect

Sniper rifles are used not just for military purposes but also for hunting. The telescopic lens can help the hunter track and pinpoint the target quarry. Hunting Rifles Can be Thought of as an Extension Arm of the Hunter

January 10th, 2011 Comments off

For many people hunting is an art form which requires the use of the proper implement. The discussions about hunting rifles are numerous. You as a hunter will need to consider only the aspects of these rifles that pertains to your hunting skills and the game you are going after. Now while you might think this question can be answered very quickly there are various factors you will need to think about when you are selecting your rifle.

The first and most important consideration that should be observed with regards to hunting rifles is the type of game you are hoping to bring down. Next how much time do you plan on leaving aside for hunting. In other words are you going to use your rifle for a few seasons and look at another type of hunting activity or are you planning on being a yearly hunter?

Once you have answered these questions you should see what type of action you can get from the different hunting rifles. For instance the Winchester M70 is a rifle model that is well worth considering. Of the various features you will find are simple yet adjustable trigger, 3 position safety on the rifle bolt, a detachable or non-detachable box magazine. This box magazine will sometimes have a hinged floor plate – although this feature will be present depending upon the type of Winchester version and grade you choose.

You will need to look around for this hunting rifle as it has been discontinued by the manufactures since 2006. Another excellent choice of hunting rifles is that of the semi-automatic Remington rifles. In this rifle brand the model 74, 740 and the 742 are capable of bringing down big game like elk, grizzly and white tailed deer.

For many big game hunters this is the hunting rifle to choose as there are different variations and features to be found with the guns. Also the model 740 comes in different sized calibers. The caliber sizes you should be able to find for this rifle are from 243 to 30-06. For those hunters who prefer the bolt action hunting rifles Remington also produces these weapons.

This Remington model is in the 700 series and it can be considered to be one of the more popular hunting rifles of American hunters. There are various features to be found with these guns. An adjustable trigger and detachable or non-detachable box magazine are a few of the features you will get with this rifle. This box magazine will sometimes have a hinged floor plate. This feature is only available with certain models. For safety’s sake there is a side mounted thumb safety to be found.

Hunting rifles can be thought of as an extension arm of the hunter. With the appropriate selection you can get clean and humane game kills. The sheer variety of hunting rifles can lend the hunter a different gun choice for hunting until the perfect all around hunting rifle has been discovered.

EFI, LLC Selling Heller Commemorative Rifles

January 10th, 2011 Comments off

Inwood, WV (PRWEB) December 24, 2008

EFI, LLC is pleased to announce that it will be producing rifles commemorating the 2008 landmark United States Supreme Court decision in the case of District of Columbia v. Heller. The Supreme Court ruled in Dick Heller’s favor, finding that the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution protects an individual right to keep and bear arms and that a complete ban on handguns is unconstitutional.

“I’m flattered that EFI, one of the best manufacturers of precision rifles, is working to raise funds for us,” said Mr. Heller. Money raised from the sale of the commemorative rifles will help support the Heller Foundation formed after the historic June 26 decision, and the U.S. Bill of Rights Foundation, formed several years ago by Dane von Breichenruchardt. The foundations are raising funds to defray the significant costs of litigation to overturn the onerous firearm restrictions recently passed by the Washington, DC City Council. Both foundations are not for profit organizations.

“Winning the first Heller case signaled the start of a very long race. Fully regaining our gun rights will be a marathon, not a sprint, and we’ll need a lot of help and support along the way,” said Mr. von Breichenruchardt.

After the Supreme Court’s ruling the Washington DC City Council amended the District’s firearm regulations. The new regulations:

Limit residents to registering one handgun every 30 days,
Require training prior to registering a firearm,
Requires handguns to be re-registered every three years,
Prohibit the registration of handguns that are not listed on California’s Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale,
Ban handguns manufactured after January 1, 2011 that do not have microstamping technology, and
Prohibit the registration of semi-automatic rifles.

Future Heller cases will be crafted to overturn these onerous and blatantly unconstitutional restrictions.

“During the first Heller case I know many people who wanted to help,” said Melinda Meador, President of EFI, LLC and a long-time Second Amendment activist. “Now gun owners can play a part in future wins. Also, overturning these laws in DC on Second Amendment grounds means that they will fall nationwide.”

“I’m honored to be a part of such a historic opportunity,” added Mike Meador, Vice President of Operations at EFI, LLC. “Dick and Dane have given so much for our rights. We now have a chance to return their gift and to show our appreciation for their accomplishments. Our partners include Jerry Stiller, who supplies the actions for our Precision Strike rifles, and Mike Rock of Rock Creek Barrels. Jerry and Mike are both incredibly enthusiastic about this project, and they are looking forward to helping restore our Second Amendment Rights as the Founding Fathers intended.”

EFI, LLC will engrave Dick Heller’s signature, accented with gold, on its Precision Strike and Rapid Strike rifles. Only 25 of the commemorative Signature Gold series for each rifle line will be sold. The Signature Gold rifles will also be personally signed by Dick Heller and will include a wall-mountable display case, an airline-approved hard case, bipod, scope, and Certificate of Authenticity signed by Mr. Heller. Purchasers of the Signature Gold rifles will also have the chance to meet Dick Heller and Dane von Breichenruchardt at a private event to be held at Storm Mountain Training Center.

EFI, LLC will produce the Signature Silver series of rifles for a limited time period. These rifles will be stamped with Dick Heller’s signature and accented with silver. Like the Signature Gold rifles, the Signature Silver Series will also come with an airline-approved hard case, bipod, scope, and Certificate of Authenticity signed by Mr. Heller.

“When Mike approached me with this idea, I immediately agreed,” said Mr. Heller. “Not only will this help us win future cases, but on a more personal level, it’s humbling to think that the rifles that I sign may be collector’s items one day.”
